Private API Translation Model User Manual
Prepare a Google Cloud key and enable custom API-key-based translation inside Ciwi.
If you want to manage model usage and quota through your own API key, this guide explains two steps: prepare the key in Google Cloud first, then configure it inside Ciwi.
Get your own Google key
Create a Google Cloud project, enable the required API, and then generate an API key from the Credentials page. After the key is created, restrict the scope and allowed interfaces for better security.
- Create a Google Cloud account and set billing information
- Create a project and enable Cloud Translation or the relevant model API
- Generate an API key and restrict it by interface and source where possible
Configure the key inside Ciwi
Return to Ciwi Translation Settings, open the AI Models section, and add your Custom API key together with a quota limit before saving.
- Open the API key configuration area from Dashboard or Translation Settings
- Enter the key and usage limit to avoid overspending external API budget
- Save the configuration, then choose the model in the translation task
Operational notes
When using a personal key, budget control, model choice, and glossary quality rules become even more important. Remove old keys promptly when they are no longer needed.
