How to set up and use glossary?

Glossary is one of the most important control points for translation quality and brand consistency.

Glossary is one of the most important control layers in Ciwi's multilingual workflow. It helps you lock brand terms, product terms, and other high-value expressions so they do not drift across pages or languages.

When glossary is necessary

  • Brand names, product lines, or series names should not be translated freely
  • The same term must stay consistent across multiple pages
  • You want different models to still produce stable terminology

Suggested setup flow

  1. List brand terms, core selling points, and forbidden translations first
  2. Add those entries into glossary
  3. Test on product pages and FAQs first to confirm the effect
  4. Expand gradually into more page types afterward

Best practice

Do not treat glossary as a full dictionary. The most important part is the set of high-value, high-frequency terms that shape brand consistency most strongly.
